The basic premise of the enlightening book is that to become a high performer, one must adopt the habits of high performers, both personal and social including:
Personal Social
1) Seek clarity 1) Increase productivity
2) Generate energy 2) Develop influence
3) Raise necessity 3) Demonstrate courage
The book goes on to describe the actions to take to create these habits, each of which is made up of three separate actions.
While the book is well structured with many stories and examples to illustrate the author’s points, the processes one must meet to achieve high performance is complex (6 habits x 3 actions each = 18) and requires a significant commitment by the reader just to remember them all, let alone the time to master them so they become habits. However, it’s a good read and though provoking.
